Here are the pics I promised in the previous post*. Kinda neat cause I knew what to watch for from attending Disaster Ready Austin/CERT sponsored classes put on by weather professionals.  I was just driving for hours watching the clouds, identified the parts of the storm, knew where to look, saw the rotation and then the bottom fall out of the clouds.

Sorry the pics aren’t better – thought it better to get my artwork and everything around the storm first ;) First 3 are one hand on the dsrl while driving around 65. The forth I finally caught up but it had moved North into Aurora with less contrasting background. Full frames (didn’t crop).

Real quick: Chicago was fun, my sister Lee Ann and her partner really enjoyed the trip as well.

Rain-rain for taking pics. Saw the Aurora, Nebraska form and fall outta the sky (pics later?)

Now scootin around Colorado waitng for the Vail show this coming weekend.

Gotta run to get somne sleep and hopefully catch a little morning light for shooting…

Arrived in Chicago yesterday, went with my sister LeeAnn and her partner Beth down to the Navy pier to alk around, dodge SeaGulls and watch fireworks. Todayis a work day for me  prepping for Wells Street show this weekend and getting out a couple orders…

Well, went don to Harpers Ferry to hike around and shoot: cool ruins, railroad tressels & Bridges, Blue Heron etc.

At about 3p-4p ascended a ridge to photograpgh the town with Shanbandoa @ Potomac River converginging. ~20 min before reaching the overlook heard lots of rumbling, which was cool cause it was an old civil war battle area with boards describing the posts, battles etc. I could imagine the scene. When I came out from the trees at the stop, it was dark and began to lightening around. I stepped out on the ledge, took a few shots, paused a moment to enjoy then retreated for shelter to check my shots. A couple was still out there and another guy came along  saying ‘the storm was aways off, but he had gotten caught recently in the rain in New Jersy.

I hi-tailed it down the mountain (on a sore ankle) and by the time I was 2/3 down it was raing pretty good and the lightening was around. I tucked my camera in the backpack and tripod in its case and preceeded along the uncovered trail from the base of the mountain o the long METAL bridgeI had to cross. Keep in mind walking along this bridge is like walking in a metal cage accross the river. I thought I might experiance the ‘tesla cage’ effect, but made it across safely – soaked, but safe ;)

Said to someone ‘thought it was supposed to be a ‘nice day’ – he replied ‘it was!’ :) Another smal adventure :D

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my both in downtown Frederick, Maryland this past weekend! :)

After a rainy sloshy setup on Friday, the weekend was beauftiful and lots of people out. The festival was setup along the paver-lined canal with nice bridges and flora along the way. – pics later ;)

Especially enjoyed chatting with my neighbors Al (now from Roanoke VA) and Billy from Williamsburg VA. Al has some jazzy one-of-a-kind pices and Billy wonderful African wildlife shots.

Debuted my ‘Early Mooring’ and ‘Montauk Harbor’ pieces taken a couple weeks ago in Montauk New York. These are my first ‘out of Texas’ shots I have displayed :)

Taking some down time today, but hope to shoot some more cool stuff on my way to Chicago, Il for Wells street this weekend.
